"Adrift" Illustration Friday

Hey everybody, here's my Illustration Friday for this week... the word was "Adrift".

Cereal Storyboard (Rough Thumbnails)

These are a few rough thumbnail sketches for a cereal commercial. I might plan on throwing in some jazz music from the 1930s or 1940s. I got some inspiration from the video game Fallout 3 (being in a post apocalyptic future, and the music choice.) This commercial could grab the attention of fans of science fiction and old music.

My "Muddy" Illustration

Illustration Friday's topic for today is "Muddy". I went in a bit of a different direction with this one and did a whole movie poster very old school. I'm sort of a fan of classic B films and it shows in my design.

Cereal Advertisement Work

Hey guys! This is my progress for a cereal advertisement I did.

Here is a really REALLY basic sketch for the project. I scanned it in and put it in Photoshop.




This is my comprehensive, and the idea is starting to come together. This is just to show how everything will be placed in the final illustration. I decided to throw in a car logo to make the image look more like the rear of a car. Done in Photoshop CS3.





This is the final illustration. I grabbed an image of the rear of an Aston Martin and used it as a source to get the shapes and lighting more realistic. The license plate was kept in sharp focus to draw your eyes to the center. After finishing the drawing, I felt that the bottom had a lot of empty space, so I decided to throw in a little slogan. Done in Photoshop CS3.
